helpful info for during your stay
Pack a picnic lunch and explore the property. Daisy Bank farm is 650 acres, comprising natural bushland and pasture. There are plenty of beautiful walks, just follow the tracks up from the farmyard.
There is a natural bush reserve containing beautiful white gum and black peppermint forest with a gorgeous display of orchids from October to November. If you head out for a walk at dusk you are bound to see lots of wallabies, pademelons and possums. If you are really lucky you might see wombats, bandicoots and betongs. There is a rich variety of birdlife, including the endangered Wedge-tailed eagle that have a nest in the forest on our farm. Brown falcons nest in the pine trees above the farmyard and Brown goshawks also nest up on the ridge. The older eucalypts provide excellent hollows for nesting parrots and wood ducks. There are also a myriad of smaller bird species including Striated pardalotes, the Superb blue wren and many others.
On the farm itself we run merino sheep for wool production and sell the wether lambs to the market. We also contract-grow cauliflower seed crops and have a small plot for saffron production.
